Kyle has begun feeding me booze, but I’m going to try and finish a blogeroonie about the past 2 days.

Yesterday we played our Regina show. It was pretty ridiculous. It was a staff party for a Regina brew pub chain and there were a lot of people there – about 150 or so. I think there might have been about 6 people actually listening to our performance. In between our sets they played hip hop and glittery pop music and the canned crap coming out of bad speakers seemed to be what the majority of the crowd was into. We weren’t the right band for the job… but oh well. A few people were listening, and a couple bought CD’s. It was pretty emberassing for the most part though. We also couldn’t get the sound to be any good once the room filled up. But they paid us, and we went to Kyle’s instead of getting a hotel room. So it was ok. I guess we probably had as much as an audience as we did the other night at The Apollo, but there were just a lot of people there who couldn’t care less about the music. Oh ya, and there were three enormous TV screens above our heads that were broadcasting sports events and clips of people injuring themselves. The crowd would often go wild in the middle of a ballad.

So stupid. Oh well.

After the show we drove to Kyle’s place, close to Wilcox SK. The fog was so thick that we could barely see 5 feet in front of us as we drove. Luckily the roads were straight, but the slightest bend threw us off. Kyle said his mom drove right off the road into a field and got stuck there when it was snowing. You really can’t tell where the edges of the roads are. We made it to Kyle’s house just after midnight.

Today Oli and I slept in a lot, and then we met Kyle at his parents’ place where all the farm machines and trucks are. We watched the red lentils that Kyle and his dad grow being fed into a truck, and then we went with Kyle for a drive to Moose Jaw where he dropped off the lentils to be processed.
